I had a very weird dream this morning. I was in the office at home talking on my cell phone. While I was talking I saw a rope that was in a box under my desk that was moving! It was moving very slowly but definitely moving and coming out of the box. I was trying to focus on the conversation I was having but was very distracted by this rope. I ran out of the room calling for CT, who was spending the night on the couch, to come see the rope. I was so distracted by this rope that I was no longer participating in the conversation and they finally hung up on me. When I mentioned that to CT, she was really upset with me and launched into this dialog about how they were probably really hurting, pouring out their heart to me and I just “dissed” them! She got up to see the rope but was so upset with me she didn’t REALLY look and said, “Ok, fine, it’s a rope” and walked out. Apparently, she didn’t see it moving like I did. In the mean time the rope was now completely out of the box and moving down the hall way. Then I started calling out to Tom’s sister who was in the bathroom getting ready for bed. She saw the rope but didn’t see it moving. I don’t think I was afraid, just really intrigued that the rope was moving at all, although I do remember being concerned about it. The next thing I know I decided to go to bed to forget about it and while I was laying there in the bed, I looked down the hall way and the rope increased its speed coming down the hall to the bedroom and came up the side of the bed. I grabbed it with my left hand and wondered if I was going to be strong enough to hold it back. It didn’t seem to be very strong and I easily held it up but then it started to grab onto my arm with pieces of twine and that freaked me out enough to wake me up!

When I was thinking about the dream, I realized that I was so caught up and emotional that I was really trying to call out the names to come see it and, in the dream, it wasn’t coming out very well. I think I was trying to call out in real life so it was all muffled. I don’t know what this was all about but I thought I would write it down because it seemed important. What does the rope signify? What is coming after me? Is it the encroaching timeline of the dept and the house still hanging out there??? I am pretty sure this is spiritual… Things that make you go Hmmmm.

Note from Linda 2022: I never got a complete interpretation of this dream, except for the "left hand" holding it part, but as I am reading it again I wonder if CT and Tom's sister represented the people around us who "couldn't see" what God was doing in our lives and who were really frustrated with us and thought we were really off our rocker??
